Shooting Sports Workshop

Good Day All,

Shooting Sports Workshop dates have been set.

Sign up links are posted at the bottom of the email.

All workshops will start at the posted times.  Please arrive on time and ready to participate at the designated start time for each workshop.

Our first workshop will be a safety meeting and firearm cleaning event on May 27th.

We will meet at the 4-H building at the fairgrounds from 600-730 PM.

NPCCC range workshops will be held on the following dates.  Each workshop will be from 6PM to sunset.

Location: North Porter County Conservation Club ~ 927 N Calumet Ave ~ Chesterton

  1. June 09 – Tuesday
  2. June 17 – Wednesday
  3. June 23 – Tuesday
  4. June 29 – Monday

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear to the workshops.  Please do not wear open toe sandals or flip flop type of shoe as these are a tripping hazard and we want to keep you safe.

Please bring water to stay hydrated.

We have eye and ear protection for everyone.  If you have your own please feel free to bring them.

Do not bring any personal firearms to the workshops.  We will provide firearms and ammo.

The range workshops are not drop and go events.  Each 4-H member participating needs to have an adult present during the workshop.  There are picnic tables and a club house to sit in or feel free to bring camp chairs.

Archery workshops will be held at Martz & Lucas  ~ 105 Lincolnway – 2nd floor back room

Sessions will be 30 minute events with 4 archers per session.

There will be multiple sessions per evening. The first session will start at 5PM then 545PM and 630PM with the last one starting at 715 PM.

Please sign up for one session to start with until everyone has had a chance to sign up for a spot.  Please do not bring your personal bows to a workshop.  We will use the project’s bows and arrows.  Space is limited for viewers so please limit non-archers to a minimum.

Archery workshop dates will be

  1. June 01 – Monday
  2. June 04 – Thursday
  3. June 16 – Tuesday
  4. June 25 – Thursday

Additional workshops still in the planning stages are a fishing workshop for early July and an outdoor pursuits event that will be held on a Saturday sometime in June and one in the Fall.   We will communicate the specifics of these workshops as soon as we have details ironed out.
