Model Bridges workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 18, from 7-9 p.m. at the Expo East building second level.
This workshop mostly will be for beginners and first year members.. Parents are encouraged to attend. We will build most of an entry-level bridge (including cutting the wood) and explain how the project works. Experienced members are invited too for practice building an entry-level bridge (eligible as an advanced bridge if you wish). Entry-level and advanced bridges will be on display and some of their features and failures will be discussed. This workshop is required for grade 5 members in the project.
Be sure to bring 1.) your Project Manual and 2.) a bridge-building kit. Kits are available at the 4-H office at a cost of $4 each. A shoe-sized box is also nice to have for carrying your bridge home as the glue dries. Everything else will be provided at the workshop. .
The project manual is available on the Porter County 4-H Website. For more information, call Kevin Pressel, Model Bridges superintendent, at 219-794-5958. You can also email questions to kevinmpressel@gmail.com
