4-H Rising Star Award
4-H parents and volunteers (club leaders, superintendents, 4-H Council members, committee members, etc.) can nominate members who are enrolled in grades 4, 5, or 6 for the current school year for the award of 4-H Rising Star, using the online nomination form. The nominee must have been a 4-H member in the 2020-21 4-H year. There will be no limit to the number of youth who can receive the 4-H Rising Star Award each year. Members may be nominated to receive the award each year they are eligible. Recipients of the 4-H Rising Star Award will receive a 4-H gift.
4-H Junior Ambassador Award
Members who are enrolled in grades 7 or 8 for the current school year and have completed at least two years in 4-H can apply for the award of Junior Ambassador, using the online application form. There will be no limit to the number of youth who can receive the award each year. Members may reapply for the award of Junior Ambassador each year they are eligible. First-time recipients of the Award will receive a chenille 4-H patch (letter jacket-style). Second-time recipients will receive a gift that is subject to change. Individuals who are named Junior Ambassadors are encouraged to volunteer to assist with various 4-H activities and events at the Porter County Fair.
4-H Achievement Ambassador Award
Members who are enrolled in grades 9-12 for the current school year, have completed at least four years in 4-H, and have at least one year of 4-H eligibility remaining (i.e., you must be enrolled in 4-H during the 2021-22 4-H year) can apply for the award of Achievement Ambassador, using the online application form. You can only receive the honor of Achievement Ambassador once. Past Reserve Ambassadors and members of the Achievement Board may re-apply.
To apply, members must complete the online application and upload a letter of reference from a teacher, minister, employer, 4-H volunteer, etc. (reference letters from family members will not be accepted). Applicants must also participate in an interview with the Ambassador judge(s).
Ambassadors will be determined on the basis of their application, 4-H achievements, interview, and outside activities. Individuals who are named to the Achievement Ambassador Board are encouraged to volunteer to assist with various 4-H activities and events in the year ahead, particularly at the Porter County Fair.
