Approximately 70 youth are hired to work in the 4-H Exhibit Hall at the Indiana State Fair. These youth are responsible for checking in exhibits, setting up displays, staffing the Exhibit Hall and Centennial Hall, releasing exhibits, and cleaning up the buildings. These youth workers also greet and interact with about 800,000 guests visiting the Indiana State Fair. Youth are paid minimum wage and this is a tremendous leadership experience. Extension Educators are asked to promote this to their Junior Leader aged youth and college-age young adults. Workers must be 14 years of age or older. Applications are available on the 4-H Exhibit Hall Worker web page (here). Applications will be accepted through April 1st or until all positions are filled.
