#1 Fair Entry needs to be completed and submitted by Friday June 25th. If you have questions please feel free to reach out to myself or the extension office and we will be happy to get them taken care of. This is important! If you do not complete Fair Entry and submit it you may be ineligible to show.
#2 Workshop Time: June 29th at 5 pm at the Porter County Fair Livestock Show Arena. Bentley will be reviewing how to show a heifer, cow, and steer. This workshop is geared towards new and first year members but all are welcome to attend (we always welcome tips and tricks from all of our older members).
#3 Paperwork: Make sure you have received all of your project paperwork. It is due by Monday July 26th by 8:00 p.m. It must be completed and turned in prior to any animals being able to show.
#4 Barn setup: July 10th at 8:30 a.m. You meet at the Cattle Barn on the dairy side. We get all of our gates and everything set up and ready to go for mulch delivery. At this time you will also be able to have an opportunity to peek at what stall assignments are going to look like. Deb Morrow is typically there to get you signed up for shifts in the ice cream booth, which is the fundraiser we do during Fair week.
#5 Ice cream booth: This is our fundraiser that we do during the fair. We sell Schwan’s ice cream and milk chugs at our ice cream booth located right outside of the cattle barn. Shifts are 2 hours and we ask that you try to work two shifts. Deb Morrow is in charge of signing people up for those shifts and she should be there on July 10th for setup to start signing up.
