Members Wanted: Music & Small Animals!

Hello 4-Hers! I’m Evyenia’s Mom first and foremost, but I’m the 4-H Superintendent for two really cool projects, and we are looking for new members! It’s not too late – as May 15th is the deadline to add a project.

MUSIC – this is a County level project. You can do a Music Poster (about a band, instrument, or musical history subject). But you can also do a live performance! The project is held on Tuesday, July 13th. It is very similar to ISSMA contest if you have been a part of that before. You come and play or sing in front of two judges. You receive a detailed evaluation form. The Champions of each grade level come back later on that same day to perform in the Champions Recital. This is a great opportunity if you sing or play an instrument.

SMALL ANIMALS – do you have a critter at home? A little pocket pet? A parakeet? All of these animals can be entered in the Small Animals project. You meet with a veterinarian and talk about how you care for your pet. You also can prepare a poster or binder about your animal. This is a great project for 4Hers younger and older, but especially for someone who may not show livestock. This is a way learn more about the care of your small animal and be able to bring it to the Fair on show day (scheduled for the last Saturday of the Fair – more info TBA)

If you have any questions about these projects, feel free to message me! Thanks for reading!
