A dairy quiz bowl contest is conducted each year in November as part of the North American International Livestock Exposition held in Louisville, KY. Indiana 4-H has not been represented in recent years.
Dr. Jackie Boerman, Assistant Professor of Animal Sciences and Purdue Dairy Extension Specialist, is eager to train Indiana 4-H members interested in learning more about dairy science and the dairy industry. This competitive educational event will be a great way to demonstrate knowledge and skills learned through the 4-H dairy project. Visit the NAILE 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl site to learn more.
Dr. Boerman plans to conduct virtual practice sessions on Saturdays, but is flexible based on availability of interested youth. The number of participants will determine how Indiana’s 4-H dairy quiz bowl team will be selected.
4-H members interested in participating must register in 4-H Online by March 15. To do so login to your family’s 4-H Online account, in the left side menu select events, then click the register button, find the dairy quiz bowl registration and follow the prompts. Additional information will be emailed after registration closes.
