Porter County 4-H will be holding its very own volunteer training – Working with Others and Making It Work – on January 22nd at 6:00 PM. This meeting will take place at Horton Family Children’s Education Center (Grain Bin) @ Sunset Hill Farm Park.
Working with others as a 4-H volunteer can be exciting and rewarding, and we appreciate you sharing your knowledge and passion with others! Whether it is working with youth, their parents, other volunteers or 4-H educators, working with other people can also cause frustration, especially when there is a misunderstanding, disagreement or argument which is often affected by how we communicate.
In this session, participants will learn helpful information and strategies that may benefit interpersonal communications and improve situations when working with others. Participants will engage in large and small group discussion and scenario work and should walk away with an understanding of potential conversation pitfalls to avoid and positive conversation techniques to employ in future interactions with others.
RSVP no later than January 21st by calling the Purdue Extension – Porter County office or email Jennifer at myersjn@purdue.edu.
