For our meeting on October 9th 2023,
We did recreation in which we played a game called Mafia, which is where everyone gets a card and there are certain cards that mean certain roles and if you get these cards you play that character. If you are the Mafia you get to pick someone to be killed while everyone else’s eyes are closed. After this, then, everyone opens their eyes and votes who they think killed the person.
Then we did a costume contest. Anika Villarruel got 1st by dressing up as a scarecrow. Malakai Saez got 2nd by dressing up as a soldier. Luke Hill got 3rd by dressing up as a blown up chicken.
Next we talked about how in our community there is not that much food in the food donation at our Police Station. We would love to support the people in need by stopping by the Chesterton Police Station and donate food like dry milk, oil, coffee, tea bags, pasta, cans that can be opened without a can opener, soup, cake mix, frosting, dish soap, hand soap, detergent, and etc.
We are also working on a fundraiser that we could do at a restaurant, but that is still to be determined.
Then we made snowmen ornaments out of beads for our community service. They will be dropped off at a nursing home when we are done with all the ornaments.
Finally we recognized our birthdays for October.
We also helped Hawthorne Park host their annual Boo Bash on October 20th. We have a bunch of games for little children to play. It was so much fun and we are looking forward to helping them out again next year.
OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE NOVEMBER 13TH AT 6:30 AT HAWTHORNE PARK (500 Ackerman Drive, Porter IN). Next meeting we will be making Christmas tree ornaments. Anyone is welcome to come and join the fun.
